Ever have those days when you feel as though you just might go crazy? You know the feeling, when you’ve been staring at the computer all day long and you haven’t even realized that the day has gone by until you look up and notice that the only light in the room is from the computer. Those weeks when you are so busy and there is so much to do and no time to do it, or so it feels. When you feel like you just need to get out and get away! Well that was Dan and I last week, we couldn’t stand ourselves much longer and knew we needed to do something! Monday morning we took a drive north and ended up in Burlington VT, one of the towns in VT that we’ve been meaning to explore.
Our first stop was Church street which is very similar to Pearl St in Boulder, CO actually it was designed by the same person. If you’ve been to both places I’m sure you have seen the similarities. Just like we would find on Pearl St, we found lots of art on Church St and most importantly, Dan got his first ever Maple Candy. 🙂
After driving around checking out the town and Lake Champlain, we found Magic Hat brewery. I would have never knew it was there if we weren’t looking for it, the outside appearance is very much a brewery, but it doesn’t seem like its open to the public, I don’t even remember a sign. The inside however is a much different story, talk about branding! The whole self guided tour, tasting area and gift shop were all decked out in Magic Hat brand. The lights were dimmed in the whole place and there was lots of bright green, purple and orange all around. We had definitely entered into Magic Hat world and it was wonderful!
Dinner I must mention as well, which was at the Vermont Pub and Brewery. More beer sampling of course as I was with Dan, and we quickly became fans of the new found brand.
Great food as well and really good cheese! Yes we had a cheese sampler too : ) Whats better than samples when your out exploring new things!?! Samples are wonderful!
Day One in VT was an energetic blast! Day two . . . stay tuned 🙂
