Let’s face the facts, your high school portraits, are images that will be around for a long, long time. Twelve years of school pictures replaced year after year in your relatives 5×7 and 8×10 frames, all comes to a stand still.
As this will be an image you will likely see for years, you should probably like it, right?
Finding the right photographer is the first step. Be sure to like their style of photography and think about how comfortable you will be with them, especially if your wanting a more natural smile and not that fake, forced smirk that has only too often been a part of past school photos.
Another key point is comfort. Yes, I mentioned your comfort with the photographer, but what about your clothing choice? Make sure what you’ve chosen not only fits comfortably, but that your comfortable in it. Two different things and both are important! Just because something fits you well, could be out of your comfort zone style wise and have you feeling self conscious, which (trust me) will show through in your images!
Lastly I will say, quite simply, to remember your face. The best advice I can give for this is Carissa Ashley. Yes, professional makeup by Carissa Ashley! This doesn’t have to be anything outrageous or out of your comfort zone (remember comfort!). Many opt for a natural look and Carissa works her magic, enhancing your natural beauty. She will take in your features, outfit, location and the lighting all to leave you feeling pretty great about yourself and the camera that’s getting all close and personal with your face!
Yes, I have teamed up with Carissa again for sessions in the 2014 senior season!
Be sure to mention that you would like a session with makeup, so we may book your session accordingly. Remember, sessions with Carissa are limited and do go fast, be sure to book soon ~ contact us and book in the next week (before May 31st) and be a part of our summer specials with a voucher towards your portrait package!
So remember: Photographer, Comfort and Face! 🙂
