Hello Hello, how goes your cold and snowy winter?!
Winter’s are generally slow for natural light photographers, and when somewhere around 5 feet of snow falls in a little over two weeks AND record breaking cold temps, well things are even slower! I’m all about going outside for some snowy winter photo sessions (after all we wanted a winter wedding!) but, negative and single digits – no thank you. I would be making moms of all ages angry at me for having their ‘baby’ out in the cold!
I had planned on a slow winter anyway, as you know I’m in transition mode and am looking forward to big things this spring/summer! Speaking of . . . Class of 2016 (or those of you who know a high school junior due to graduate next year) start thinking about senior photos! I’ll be looking for representatives in the next month with fun sessions to follow, contact me if your interested or just for more info!
Construction is under way, a bit delayed from the snow of course, but framing is up and now we’ve got all the pro’s lined up to come and and do their thing!
One thing I am most excited about, it’s silly, but the new stairs! The old, steep, scary stairs in the basement/(soon to be)mudroom are gone and beautiful, wide, new stairs now stand! What a difference!
Snow days and harsh cold temperatures may have kept us inside, but we’ve been up to other fun projects!
Dan has been home brewing for a couple years now and we (okay he – but I did help a little!) just bottled his first cider AND his first wine – not just any wine either, cranberry wine made with real cape cod cranberries that we mashed up ourselves! Yup this wine has been a project! It’s about 5 months in and has another I don’t know 6 – 9 to go! When the time comes I’ll let you know the results!
I’ve been busy with new knitting patterns and testing my ‘skills’. After a summer and fall of knitting pretty much in secret for the wedding and Christmas it’s been nice to try new projects and share my tiny accomplishments as I’ve been surprising myself even! I received so many compliments from the wraps and gloves I made for the wedding my knitting brain feels like it can knit anything!
I’m not so sure about the anything, but after 3 (or 4) tries I think I did successfully create the start of a sleeve . . . never done anything with a sleeve before! A little proud and a little nervous that is could be totally wrong. I’m just going to keep on going and wait and see! Just keep knitting, just keep knitting, just keep knitting . . .
I’ll post the completed project when the time comes 🙂
It looks like we’re gonna have a little heat wave this weekend with the weather in the 20s & maybe even 30s! If it’s true I’m gonna get outside with my brand new snowshoes (thanks mom and dad for the awesome bday gift!!) and my camera and have some fun in the snow!
How much snow do you have?
Get outside this weekend and share your snowy winter photos with us too!
