I’ve been talking about My Beauty Campaign and the mission to redefine beauty.
What I haven’t yet shared, is my experience.
Photographers of My Beauty Campaign are encouraged to experience a beauty transformation of their own. In fact it is required if a photographer would like to become Certified Gold level MBC Photographer.
As a photographer I am very rarely in front of the camera, never mind the subject of a portrait session, so right away I was fearing the conclusion of the process before I even began! Once I started though I was wrapped up in the process of transformation and became excited about a portrait session! Everyone has things that they like and don’t like about themselves, but having to express these things, write them down and look into your feelings is a whole different thing. Also, it’s amazing to hear what others think and feel about you, and how willing they are to share.
This process is a little scary, a lot eye-opening and very uplifting!
Being the only MBC photographer in MA, I enlisted the help of a good friend and photographer to complete the process, Thank You to Kelley of Kelley B Photography! Here’s a peek from the conclusion of my session . . .
A Thank You to Missy for extending my appointment and styling my hair for the session! And for understanding that now that I’ve been through this process I realize I want to be “me” which includes growing out my bangs and bringing my hair back to its natural color! 🙂 I am thinking I’ll just have to have another portrait session to capture the ‘new’/’old’ hair! And of course, Thank You to my very good friend Carissa of makeup by Carissa Ashley, for her time and talent and help in making me feel beautiful. 🙂
